We're a small crew of licensed electricians who live in the same county you do. Somebody from the shop picks up the phone at every hour, including three in the morning. When we quote you, we quote the actual work, not a flat-rate padded for hypothetical problems. Panels, EV chargers, rewires, troubleshooting, and pretty much anything with wires in it.
Actual jobs we've done around San Diego. All shot by the crew, not staged for the website.
Every job we do is guaranteed. If it fails on our work, we come back.
We give you a real ETA. Our trucks are stocked so most jobs finish in one trip.
Same family since 2004. We don't hide it in the fine print because it matters.

We started CLD in 2004 with one truck, one 619 area code, and a decent chip on the shoulder about how bad most electrical work in San Diego was. Twenty-two years on we've grown into a small crew, but not by much. Same family. Same 619 number. Same rule: nobody who works here is a subcontractor, we charge for the actual work not a flat-rate estimate, and if we ever mess something up we come back and fix it. That's the whole thing.
Give us a call. We'll take good care of you.

Called them at 8am. We'd lost power to half the house overnight and my kids couldn't shower before school. Tech was here by 10. Spent maybe 20 minutes tracing it (loose neutral in a junction box, whatever that means), fixed it, and was gone. Charged me for exactly that time plus one part. Best home service call I've had in years honestly.
We just got a Model Y and wanted a Level 2 charger, which meant upgrading our panel from 100 to 200 amp first. Got three quotes. CLD came in the middle. Went with them because the guy who came out actually explained the work instead of just handing me a number. Whole thing took one day. Passed inspection first try. The financing helped too.
1962 house with the original aluminum wiring. Insurance was going to drop us if we didn't remediate. CLD walked us through both options (full rewire vs the AlumiConn pigtail method), gave us a real quote for each, no pressure either way. Went with the pigtail. Took about a week. They snaked wires through the walls without any visible damage. I still don't know how they did some of the runs.
I manage six commercial properties around the county. CLD is the only electrical contractor I use anymore. They know all the buildings, they don't need hand-holding on tenant work, and they send actual service reports after every visit. Also they answer the phone on Saturdays, which is when tenants always seem to lose power.
Older home, original wiring in a lot of places, mid-century additions with 80s work stacked on top. Total mess. CLD spent an hour walking through with us and gave us a real plan — do the panel and kitchen circuits now, do the rest over the next couple years. No pressure. Gave us the military discount without me having to ask. That mattered.
Sunday afternoon and smoke started coming out of our breaker panel. Called CLD's number expecting an answering service and got a real person, who said someone would be at the house within the hour. He was actually there in about 50 minutes. Killed the main, did a safe temporary fix, came back Monday morning with a new panel. Not cheap. Also not cheap when your house is on fire.
There's no rotating faces at CLD. Everybody who does the work is an employee we hired, we trained, and we vouch for. When you call, one of these people picks up.
Real people, real names. Crew photos coming to the site soon.
I got the call from a woman in La Jolla around 3am on Christmas Eve. She had eight relatives at the house for the holidays and had just noticed a burning smell coming from her electrical panel. Half the second floor had lost power. She'd called SDG&E, they'd checked the drop and said everything on their side looked fine. Now what?
I was there in about 45 minutes. Opened the panel. What I found was one of those things you read about but rarely see in the field: her main lug — the aluminum connection where the utility feed meets the panel busbar — had been slowly failing for probably five or six years. Every high-load moment (AC kicking on, oven and dryer at the same time) had made it a little hotter. That night, with a full house cooking Christmas Eve dinner, it had finally started to arc.
We killed the main, tightened what we could safely tighten with the current still off, and put a temporary safe-off on the panel so the family could sleep. Ran a small generator loop for their fridge and the tree lights.
Christmas Day morning I came back with a whole new panel and the SDG&E cutoff was already scheduled — a favor a friend at the utility called in for me. New service, new grounding, new bond, all done by dinner. The family sat down to Christmas Day dinner in a house that wouldn't burn down.
They still send us a Christmas card every year. It hangs in our shop above the coffee machine.
